Front Row

Front row seats can be a tricky thing.  Obtaining court side seats for a favorite basketball team may require good connections or cost a pretty penny.  Even when you can get front row seats at a football game there are degrees of front row quality such as being on the 50 yard line or being in the End Zone.  Sometimes your desire for the front row depends completely on your personality, such as at a Shamu or Gallagher performance

And there are certain places where no one seems to want the front row such as movie theaters and some churches.

However in all of these places the seats are designed for sitting.  Yes there may be some good games, concerts, or great worship services where you end up standing the whole time, but generally speaking, you sit.

When it comes to working hand-in-hand with GOD this becomes an interesting dynamic as it relates to Font Row Seats in Burkina Faso (or anywhere else in His Kingdom).  We hesitated when titling this blog Front Row Seats because that can convey such a passive role.  As we sit together on the front row, we anticipate you joining us through this blog in jumping up and shouting praise at times and in other posts falling to our knees in prayer, humbled by the mighty God we love, sometimes singing with joy and sometimes weeping with those who mourn.  These are anything but seats just for sitting.  Yet there is an element of passiveness because we fully expect GOD to be the one doing the work!  We see this all throughout Scripture as God calls His people to join Him.  He is actively involved and in most cases He acts in incredible ways, but there always seems to be a role that depends on the obedience of His people.

We are active because we are joining the work He is doing, and yet we are passive because it is actually Him doing the work through us!
